Adagio

"When Alexander the Great visited Diogenes and asked whether he could do anything for the famed teacher, Diogenes replied; 'Only stand out of my light.'  Perhaps some day we shall know how to heighten creativity.  Until then, one of the best things we can do is to stand out of their light."

Porchscapes
by Mary Warshaw

Mary WarshawMary Warshaw, a Beaufort, NC artist well known for her lovely watercolors of the town's historic porches, has published a beautiful coffee table book.

Compiled over the past eight years, the book's foundation is built around the houses that create Beaufort's street vistas and the people who built and lived in these "Architecture Treasures." Besides the fifty featured house paintings and family histories, woven into this book are many other histories, from those who first touched the sand banks to the history of the Beaufort plaque - all with full-color Giclee-quality images. The introduction by architectural historian Tony P. Wrenn is a wonderful "love song" to Beaufort.  Read more....

New Artists for the New Year

Harry Leaf

Harry Leaf was born in the Chicago area and moved to San Francisco in 1985 where despite the fact that art was always his calling he earned a law degree.  Upon completion of the law degree in 1989 he immediately asked himself "what was I thinking?" and became a painter and sculptor.  His goddesses and mermaids are wonderfully unique!
