Philippa Roberts
Born in South Africa to a jewelry making family, Philippa was naturally drawn to working with metals and stones. She graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a BFA in metal design and photography. With California calling, she moved to San Francisco in 1995 to start her career in jewelry design. She started by working for different designers to develop and hone her skills and to learn how to run a small business. Philippa established her first studio in her home in 1996. What started as a basement business has developed into a larger design studio. Philippa now works from a new studio in her first retail shop in Oakland.
Having started with a basic sterling silver and pearl design, she has expanded her line by integrating silver and gold with different colored stones, adding texture, shape and hue to many of her designs. Philippa creates all the original pieces by carving in wax or fabricating in metal.
Philippa's jewelry is beautifully organic and classically simple. To see more of her jewelry, follow this link:

Pam Holliday
Pamela Holliday spent many years as a public school principal and as Director of Exceptional Children's Programs. In 2004 she retired and began teaching writing part-time at Carteret Community College. While at the college, she renewed her love of clay by taking a course in pottery. Pam began by throwing pots at Bridges Street Pottery in Morehead City. She had her first pottery show in October, 2005, as part of the four woman group called Back Creek Artists. Since that time, Pam has shown her work extensively in Eastern North Carolina and beyond. She is a member of the Carteret County Arts and Crafts Coalition, Carolina Artist Studio Gallery, and serves on the board of the Arts Council of Carteret County. She earned an Honorable Mention for her pottery in the Morehead City 50th celebration in 2007 and an Excellence in Art award from the Carteret Arts Council at the 2008 Art for the Heart.
In addition to Handscapes Gallery, Pam is represented by Carolina Artist Studio and Gallery in Morehead City, NC, Road's End Gallery in Hatteras, NC, and Down Creek Gallery on Ocracoke Island. Pam has recently built a studio adjacent to her home on Adams Creek.
When not making pottery, Pam enjoys photography, kayaking with the Warrior Queens, reading for two book clubs, and singing in the Merrimon UMC Choir. She is an avid sailor, and when not on the water she lives on the shores of Adams Creek with her husband, Bob, who is the salt of the earth, Abigail Braveheart, Warrior Queen, their black lab, and Sammie, the tabbie.
