It's a shallow life that doesn't give a person a few scars.

Becky Hemby Sealed in Wax
Becky Hemby is a North Carolina native who lives on the NC Outer Banks. She was always drawn to the arts, majoring in Art Education at East Carolina University. She became interested in candle-making many years ago and apprenticed with a Master Candlemaker for 2 years. For the past 13 years, Becky has been incorporating the wild beauty of the NC seashore into her very unique candles.

Becky's process is quite involved. She uses two separate molds for her candles, one for the inner core and one for the outer layer. The inner core has a melting temperature of about 130 degrees. This core contains the scent and the zinc core wick. The outer layer is made of a much harder, denser wax with a melting temperature of 150 degrees and contains the shells, flowers, buttons and other design elements that she uses.
The unique design of Becky's candles allows them to be refillable. The inner core burns, leaving the outer layer intact. The candle can then be refilled, with a new wick and wax, or a votive candle can be placed in the hollow candle so that you can continue to enjoy the candle's beauty.
