Pandora

Pandora Sphinx

This stunning moth visited our porch during the Memorial Day weekend and we were just amazed by her beauty.  She was very docile and was very happy to have us photograph her.  Jill snapped this beautiful shot of Pandora (We believe she is a Pandora Sphinx moth - please let us know if we are wrong) on our Gerber Daisy.  Here is a shot of her on the deck chair.

Sad News

We were saddened to hear that Sally Anger's husband, Jim Stephenson, passed away on May 28.

Jim and Sally are treasured members of our community, and he will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sally.

Scott TaylorScott Taylor began his photography career with the Chapel Hill Newspaper in 1978. He left Chapel Hill for the coast in 1981 where he took a position at Duke University Marine Laboratory in Beaufort, NC as their photographer. In the summer of 2000 Taylor opened Scott Taylor Photography in Beaufort and now operates out of his renovated gallery near the historic district.

Taylor's images of the people and places of coastal North Carolina can be seen in regional and national magazines, books, and publications including "Our State", "Wildlife in North Carolina", "North Carolina Boating Lifestyle", and "Coast Watch", magazines.

Along with his editorial pursuits Taylor has authored and coauthored a number of books including a coffee table book "Coastal Waters - Images of North Carolina" now in its second printing, "Song of an Unsung Place" with Bill Mansfield, and " The Wild Horses of Shackleford Banks" with Carmine Prioli.

His fine art prints hang in galleries and private collections throughout the country. Don't be surprised to see him shooting a beach wedding or flying above the sands in a helicopter chasing sport fishing boats. Many fine families seek out Scott Taylor to capture their family portraiture on the beach, on their boats, or in their homes.
Stuart Peterman
Jeweler and Sculptor
  Stuart Peterman
Stuart Peterman is well known by our customers for his beautiful jewelry.  Using sterling silver, 12k gold filled, oxidized steel, and red copper, Stuart fabricates each piece of jewelry in his Florida studio.  His signature solo dancer and tree designs are hand sawn and hand hammered to achieve the unique textures.  The combinations of various metals, stones, and textures result in jewelry that is exhuberant, distinctive, and very wearable.

"As an artist, I have spent my life refining my own personal skills and style. My sculptures are created one at a time using a variety of metal forming  techniques to produce a life-like yet artistic quality. By designing and fashioning many of my own tools as well as hand hammering and hand cutting each piece, I achieve a look that cannot be attained by mass production. My interest and enthusiasm for experimenting with rhythmic lines and inventive patterns results in unique and distinctive creations. I pride myself on quality craftsmanship and the use of quality materials. I hope you enjoy my original art."
