In her December 19th, 2008 recap for the year, Chrissa Ventrelle of the Contra Costa Times named Mahalo Grille as one of the top 12 NEW East Bay Restaurants for 2008 and said "Pleasanton's Mahalo Grille is riding a new wave of interest with new owners and a new chef".  Mahalo was the lone representative on the list from the Pleasanton-Livermore-Dublin-San Ramon corridor and the only Tropical Fusion concept on the list.  Click here to read the full article.

Mahalo introduces new Cabernets for 2009 - DeNovo and Trefethen.

You asked for more Cabernets on our wine list that represent high quality and value and Mahalo Grille listened.  Mahalo is proud to be one of the first restaurant partners with De Novo Wines, winner of the prestigious Double Gold Medal at the 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the world's largest competition of American wines.  Mahalo now carry's the 2006, Alexander Valley Cabernet. De Novo, which in latin means "beginning again" is named in honor and celebration of life's many new beginnings. Also added to Mahalo's Cabernet collection is Trefethen's 2004, Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley Cabernet. The 04' was awarded 92 points by the Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine where they said "...incisively fruity and deceptively deep... a solid success... a wine of real polish and very fine balance." Trefethen is one of the oldest wine making families in Napa (40 years), enjoying a rich tradition and home to one of the most diverse appellations in Napa Valley with 18 grape varieties.
