Fellow Anglers, |
Fall is in the air and as the water temps begin to fall the shad will start migrating up the creeks. Look for shad type lures to start producing. LFT's 5" Magic Shad and "Live" Magic Shad, along with the Flutter Spoon will catch a lot of bass that are moving up into the creeks.
I like using the 5" Magic Shad around shallow cover, such as lily pads, hydrilla and coon tail grass. Don't forget to throw them around schooling fish "chasing/eating shad" on the surface. My favorite colors are Albino Shad and Magic Shad. Watermelon Red Flake is great around the grass. Also, try using the "Live" Magic Shad for a different action teamed up with a vibrating jig, or on LFT's ultimate Swim Bait Hook.
When fishing the Flutter Spoon, look for channel bends, humps, and any kind of structure that the bass will use as an ambush point to feed on shad. You need to use a rip and kill technique close the the structure.
Good luck fishing...
