Chalk It Up raises public awareness about contemporary art in a fun, casual environment while reinvigorating utilization of downtown San Antonio. Last year 12,500 people gathered on Houston Street to see more than 30 of San Antonio's premier visual artists turn city sidewalks into works of art. Onlookers joined in the fun by adding to the public mural and expressing their creativity in the Freestyle section or at one of several Kidzone creation stations. FREE www.artpace.org
