The SA Ragtime Society brings in 8 guest pianists to Market Square for two days of free ragtime music in downtown San Antonio. This music is making a return and drawing visitors from out of state. The next opportunity to see these pianists is at the ragtime festival in Sedalia, Missouri.

The San Antonio Choral Society presents its final concert of the season, Vespers of W.A. Mozart. The concert will feature soloists and will include Vesperae Solenes De Confessore. San Antonio based fiber artists Lisa Kerpoe, Susie Monday and Linda Rael have collaborated on The Ties That Bind, using textiles to explore physical, emotional and spiritual bonds. These three artists explore how family, symbology, religious customs and mythology overlap and create intricate human stories, using both 2 and 3-dimensional textile forms. www.fiberartspace.com

On Saturday, May 16, District 4 Councilman Philip Cortez will join more than 200 volunteers from various organizations and schools to paint multiple murals on and around the Christa McAuliffe Junior High School campus. OCA's own Juan Hernandez, along with the students at the school, designed the two large murals along the interstate turnaround that will help beautify the campus and its surroundings.
