The Vespers of W.A. Mozart May 17, 4 pm Coker United Methodist Church 231 E North Loop Road The San Antonio Choral Society presents its final concert of the season, Vespers of W.A. Mozart. The concert will feature soloists and will include Vesperae Solenes De Confessore. The Ties That Bind: 3 Artist's Exploration Through June 27 Fiber Art Space 1414 S. Alamo St. # 103 San Antonio based fiber artists Lisa Kerpoe, Susie Monday and Linda Rael have collaborated on The Ties That Bind, using textiles to explore physical, emotional and spiritual bonds. On Saturday, May 16, District 4 Councilman Philip Cortez will join more than 200 volunteers from various organizations and schools to paint multiple murals on and around the Christa McAuliffe Junior High School campus. OCA's own Juan Hernandez, along with the students at the school, designed the two large murals along the interstate turnaround that will help beautify the campus and its surroundings.

The May artist of the month is Stuart Allen.
Stuart Allen is a visual artist whose work deals with fundamental elements of perception such as light, time, gravity and space. His photographs, sculpture and installation have been shown throughout the U.S. and abroad and his work is found in many private and public collections. You can watch Allen talk about his work as part of the River Improvement Project on the May edition of SA Arts Beat, OCA's monthly tv show.
