This exhibit includes photographs by Gustavo Casasola from the Collection of the Bernabé de las Casas Museum, Mina, Nuevo León. El Niño Fidencio (José Fidencio de Jesús Síntora), is a healer who died in 1940, who is still a cult figure, and is remembered through animated photographs, original films, and people who knew him while living and bear witness. The exhibit opens with a reception February 26 at 7 pm. Related events include: a lecture by Dr. Leopoldo Castro, February 26 at 6 pm and "Niño Fidencio...de Roma a Espinazo" a film by Juan Farré, February 27 at 6:30 pm. 210.227.0123

Well-known jazz artist Kyle Keener and the Small World Trio will provide accompaniment. AOTM - FEbGet to know San Antonio artists! The February artist of the month is musician and Conjunto Heritage Taller founder Rodolfo S. Lopez.
 
Rodolfo Lopez co-founded, and is president of the Conjunto Heritage Taller, a non profit organization in San Antonio, Texas, dedicated to teaching the traditional music played with accordion and bajo sexto. Their mission is to perpetuate this culturally important folk music by teaching it to "youth of all ages."  This endeavor, which is in its 7th year, has been a resounding success with widespread community support.  Rodolfo plays bajo for many of the Taller's presentations and accompanies the students during their classes.
