El Niño Fidencio from Espinazo, Nuevo León February 26 - June 14 Instituto Cultural de Mexico 600 Hemisfair Park This exhibit includes photographs by Gustavo Casasola from the Collection of the Bernabé de las Casas Museum, Mina, Nuevo León. El Niño Fidencio (José Fidencio de Jesús Síntora), is a healer who died in 1940, who is still a cult figure, and is remembered through animated photographs, original films, and people who knew him while living and bear witness. The exhibit opens with a reception February 26 at 7 pm. Related events include: a lecture by Dr. Leopoldo Castro, February 26 at 6 pm and "Niño Fidencio...de Roma a Espinazo" a film by Juan Farré, February 27 at 6:30 pm. 210.227.0123 |
