Irish/Chicano January 23-25, 8pm Jump-Start Performance Co. 108 Blue Star This version of "Irish/Chicano" will take the form of a staged reading. Directed by Jesse Borrego, it takes place during the Mexican/American War of 1845, when a young Republic got its legs and an old culture changed. Music on the Move: Latin America January 25, 3pm San Antonio Museum of Art 200 W. Jones Ave. SAMA and Musical Offerings present "Music on the Move: Latin America." The audience is invited to participate in an innovative musical tour through the galleries in SAMA's Latin American Art Center. Music by Latin American composers will be presented by a string quintet and guitar. Program selections include History of the Tango, by Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla, and a tribute to the Beatles, "From Yesterday to Penny Lane." Marcia Gygli King Retrospective January 28 - March 1 UTSA, 1604 Campus One UTSA Circle Marcia Gygli King, an award-winning painter with dual residency in New York and Texas, whose work is collected by notables including the Guggenheim, the Whitney and celebrities, returns home to display 40 years of work at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
