August 21 - 23
Blue Star Contemporary Art Center

MOSAIC Students focused on reflection as a theme for their projects, and used a trip to the San Antonio River as part of their inspiration. The San Antonio River was not the only place to find inspiration; students also visited Stone Metal Press to learn about screen-printing and create silk-screened self-portraits. Professional artists such as renowned San Antonio artist Alex Rubio also worked with students throughout the course. The exhibition opens with a reception August 21 from 6-8pm. www.bluestarart.org

When a good deed leads to murder, two cops in 1951 have to solve a crime they want no part of. "The Good Samaritan" brings an intense, film noir story to the Overtime Theater. This one-act play surrounds the audience and uses the entire theater as a stage for the action. "The Good Samaritan" is written by Scott McDowell, author of "The Fireman's Tale" which played recently at the Overtime, and directed by Andy Thornton. www.theovertimetheater.net
