SaySiOnce Upon a Quince
July 10 and 11
SaySí Central
1518 S. Alamo
CAM tiny
Teatro ALAS combines live performance and shadow puppetry in their new performance, "Once Upon a Quince." The evil aunt, La Lechuza, curses her young niece at her christening. The curse comes true on her 15th birthday when she slips on her high heels at her Quinceañera party, and the only way to wake her is by her true love's first kiss. This is a story of a young man's journey to awaken his "sleeping beauty" and the South Texas folktale characters he meets along the way including La Llorona, the Donkey Lady and the children of the Ghost Tracks. Written and performed by the students in SaySí's Teatro ALAS program.
