This popular signature event, which will celebrate its 30th Anniversary in 2008, attracts thousands of San Antonians to the historic Guadalupe Theatre to enjoy the finest Latino films in the world and participate in an important regional forum for screening representative film works that encourage discussion and critique of contemporary and historical issues - sociological, economic, artistic, public and private. www.cinefestivalsa.org

ChorusThe Children's Chorus of San Antonio

with the San Antonio Symphony

April 11& 12, 8 pm

Majestic Theatre

208 E. Houston Street

Sir James Gaffigan leads the San Antonio Symphony and the Children's Chorus of San Antonio in a diverse program spanning two centuries of music. Ives' thoroughly American Third Symphony is one of this country's greatest contributions to music. Latvian-born Canadian composer Imant Raminsh's Songs of the Lights gives the listener a beautiful glimpse of Baltic serenity. Quintessentially British in his approach, Vaughan Williams' cantata Folk Songs of the Four Seasons traces a year in the English countryside through familiar British tunes. Our concert ends with perhaps the most famous symphony of all time - Beethoven's Fifth.  www.childrenschorussa.org

Add the luscious voices of Louise Toppin and La Rose Saxon and Broadway favorite Cedric Cannon and you have a show that makes for a smashing success. www.thecarver.org

The concert features selections of all a cappella music ranging from the ethereal songs of German mystic, Hildegard of Bingen, and the rich harmonies of Russian Orthodox melodies, to joyous Irish mouth music. Much of the music has never before been performed in San Antonio. A "Meet the Artists" reception will be held immediately following the performance and open to all in attendance. As part of the evening's performance, the ensemble will be joined by guest soloist, Dr. Kathryn Proctor-Duax, in the premier of Ruth Moreland's newest composition, "Sanctus."   www.benissimomusic.org
