The Nutcracker

Ballet San Antonio's presentation of The Nutcracker, is a traditional version of the ballet based on E.T.A. Hoffman's story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Artistic Director Mayra Worthen's choreography transports audience members from a lively party at the Stahlbaum's house through an ethereal journey in the Land of Snow to the magical Fairyland of the Sweets. |

Holiday, Texas 11/21/2007 - 1/6/2008 UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures
Holiday, Texas is the museum's annual holiday exhibit honoring select stories and traditions of Texas's cultural and ethnic groups. This year's exhibit will feature three distinct sections: A White House Christmas, Christmas across Cultures, and the Ferdinand Pribyl Bethlehem nativity scene. Christmas across Cultures will feature the celebratory traditions of the Czechs, Polish, and Saxons; explore the traditions of the Jewish celebrations of Hanukkah; present the ancient tradition of Yuletide, and showcase the emerging African American observance of Kwanzaa |

A new exhibit with collective work by local and visiting artists. With the holiday season on full swing and the civil engineering construction project nearing completion, Ozone for the Spirit will be rich in artistic presentation, full of nuance and transport the audience to a different level. December Artist of the Month:
Get to know local San Antonio artists!
Decembers artist of the month is Dora Peña.
Dora Peña was a participant of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF) Latino Writer's Lab with her feature script "The Dream Healer," which was recently submitted to the Sundance Film Festival. The film is her feature film directorial debut and stars Jesse Borrego, Valeria Hernandez, Viviane Vives, and Gabi Walker in the role of Clara, a young girl whose ability to heal insomniacs is being exploited by her greedy Aunt Marta (Evie Armstrong). In 2004, Peña completed her directorial debut, a short film titled "Crazy Life" a story about a girl in love with a boy she can't change; now in distribution through Vanguard International Cinema.
