Greetings!

June marks the 2 year anniversary (and Studio 3's 44th year in business) since I have taken over ownership of the store. I would like to thank everyone that has continued to support Studio 3 throughout the years and I am looking forward to many more years to come!

This next month is also very important for our graduates. Many of us have friends and family that are graduating high school and college, or maybe you have achieved such a milestone yourself. At this important time don't forget that framing a diploma or memento can make for a very special gift that will be treasured for years to come. Read on about some great ways to frame a diploma.

When Studio 3 first opened in Downingtown in 1965 it opened as a gift shop and art gallery. The brainchild of New York artist and collector, Hilda Rath, it was the first of its kind in the area.

In September of 1978, Mary Holleran purchased Studio 3 from Hilda. Owning a shop may have been new to Mary, but art materials and framing certainly were not. In fact, while in high school, Mary began working as an apprentice at Studio 3. Over the years, Studio 3 evolved and left the art supplies behind. The business expanded to offer museum-quality framing by a team of skilled employees. After 28 years of being the heart and soul of Studio 3, Mary was ready to retire.

June 13th, 2007 marked the sale of Studio 3 to Kyley DiLuigi. Kyley's love of art and framing led her to pursue her dream of owning a frame shop after graduating from Kutztown University with a degree in Fine Arts and a concentration in Photography. As Studio 3 began to change once again, one thing could be certain: Studio 3 would always be the place to go for custom framing and quality service.

Framing Diplomas

diploma
Diploma framing is an often overlooked option of "art" to hang on the wall. While you may not consider a diploma art it represents years of hard work and schooling that you should be proud to display on your wall. The best way to preserve this memento of your schooling is to have it framed.

There are many great ways to frame a diploma, whether you choose to showcase your school colors with matting or follow a more traditional approach, each one will highlight your achievement.

During the month of June Studio 3 will have on display several examples of diploma framing. Be sure to stop in to see all of the great examples, and if you are considering giving a framed diploma as a gift you might want to consider a gift certificate. Your graduate would be thrilled to pick out framing for their special document.
