Laughter and Turkeys! Big and Chunky (need headphones/sound) Love and Laughter...I mean really what the heck else do we need. I have been giggling at this video for like a month, and I really love it on several levels. Now I'm not advocating that we fall from fitness to being Big and Chunky...but this hippo (I think he's a hippo?) has such a fun and confident attitude--check out his masala-like head moves and flexing pecs!! 'We are where we are' on our fitness and wellness journey. I was telling a client the other day that some of us are ready to do both diet + exercise, some of us ready for exercise only and some of us only ready to diet. ITS OK!! Slow and steady wins the race! This is preferred to doing some crappy crash diet where you have no lasting results, or only working out for a week and then crawling back to the couch. Keep on, keeping on! Get up and have fun! From a yoga perspective, you are a soul inside your body, and the body is your vehicle. It is a responsibility to take care of that vehicle, to keep it moving and to not eat like a trash can, but remember...you are a unique spark of sunshine!! Point is ---don't let the turkey's or fanatics EVER make you feel imperfect. (Ya, I know here I am your vegan trainer talking about turkey on cinco de mayo...LOL) Don't waste precious time seeking out your imperfections. Get over it, get up and start moving--and grab some of this guy's attitude. Life is too short--and when the turkeys start in on you.....smile & think of this funky hippo and remember me, your personal cheerleader!! ...do what you need to do for your vehicle, get moving, and FEEL GOOD! Don't cheat yourself...keep it fun and keep it real!
