NSP Spring Event Features Leading Authority in Fundraising

This year's NSP Spring Event featured Dr. Adrian Sargeant, one of the world's foremost authorities in nonprofit fundraising and marketing, and the first Chair in Fundraising at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.  Dr. Sargeant addressed a crowd of over 200 nonprofit CEOs, board members and consultants at the Rocky Hill Marriott.  He talked about why despite the growth in global wealth, as well as new communications and financial tools that make donating easier, philanthropic giving remains stubbornly static at 2% of household income.  He spoke about how enhancing the quality of donor relationships and identifying new audiences and forms of giving could enable nonprofits to increase donations and grow philanthropy.

NFF's State of the Sector Survey Shows that Nonprofits Still Face Fundamental Challenges

According to the Nonprofit Finance Fund, more than 4,500 nonprofits across the country responded to a 2012 State of the Sector survey and shared details of how they are adapting their organizations and finances to current economic conditions.  The survey reveals that while 2011 was a year of significant organizational and programmatic changes, many nonprofits are still facing fundamental challenges that threaten the stability of the sector and the well-being of the people they serve.
