Dr. Fred Mayo (NY University) and Dr. Colin Roche (Johnson & Wales University) are co-chairing the 2013 Educators’ Best Practices Day which will be held during the 9th Annual CAFÉ Leadership Conference, June 20-22, 2013, in Miami, Florida.
The Conference theme is “Connecting with the Future.” The 2012 format for the Conference worked so well that we are repeating our goal of providing attendees with one day of educational best practices and the next day with industry connections and updates.
We are looking for presenters! Please read this letter http://www.cafemeetingplace.com/ezine/images/RFP_Sept12.pdf from the Committee (which also includes Daryl Nosek, Chair of Culinary Arts, Westchester Community College) to see how you might present or lead a discussion on our theme for the future.
The Committee needs proposals by the end of October! Thank you!
The Science of Food
If you are still interested in attending “The Science of Food” workshop, October 19-21, 2012, in Charlotte, you can still register! We have an overflow hotel approximately 5-6 miles away from the campus. The CAFÉ office will provide that information to you when you register.
The lineup of presenters is awesome! Our keynoter on Friday afternoon is Dr. Nicolas Gillitt from the Dole Nutrition Research Laboratory in Charlotte. Other speakers include Dr. Aubrey Coffee from Clemson University, Chris Koetke, CEC, from Kendall College, Joe Strybel from PolyScience, Chef Len King from McCormicks, Dr. Marge Condrasky from Clemson University, Ellen Duke and Peter Reinhart from Johnson & Wales University, Joel Schafer from Allergy Chefs and Chefs Susan Batten, Robin Stybe, and Joseph Benedetto from Johnson & Wales University. It is an impressive group of chefs and educators.
