Educational Best Practices at the CAFÉ Leadership Conference

Topics are being developed for presentation at the CAFÉ Leadership Conference on the first-ever day devoted entirely to educational best practices.

There are some outstanding topics (many NEW to us!), great keynoters, breakout sessions, and roundtable discussions during lunch.  This day’s activities are included in your registration for the conference.

To find out more about the June 21-23 Conference, hosted at the new Culinary Institute of America’s San Antonio, Texas, campus, go to http://www.cafemeetingplace.com/2012-events/leadership-conference.html

Skagitt Valley Tour

Join culinary educators from around the U.S. at CAFÉ’s second Sustainability Conference, “Learning From the Ground Up,” hosted by Seattle Culinary Academy, July 27-29.

The entire day, Saturday, will be our Field Trip to Skagitt Valley where we will see the Taylor Shellfish Farms on beautiful Samish Bay, then on to La Conner Flats, home of Seattle Culinary Academy’s summer culinary program.

Our next stop will be the Washington State University Mount Vernon Research Center where you will see experimental crop tunnels with biodegradable mulch, display gardens, heirloom variety orchards, and a Bread Lab.  WSU has programs in entomology, fruit and vegetable horticulture, vegetable pathology, weed science, and plant breeding.  Go to http://mtvernon.wsu.edu for more information.

To register and get hotel information, please go to CAFÉ’s website, http://www.cafemeetingplace.com/2012-events/sustainability.html
This event is limited to 30 attendees.
