Chef Adam Weiner, our contributor to the “Fifty-Minute Classroom” column in The Gold Medal Classroom and an instructor at JobTrain has shared with us an incredible program that he is involved with in California.
Chef Weiner teaches one day a week in the local jail and after six months, he and his co-instructor had an Iron Chef Competition. There were four teams. Each team was made up of a JobTrain student, two women inmates and a celebrity. The celebrities were the District Attorney, Assistant Chief Probation Officer and the Sheriff Captain in charge of the jails.
