Dr. Timothy Ryan, CMC, AAC, president of The Culinary Institute of America, will be the featured keynoter at CAFEs 6th Annual Leadership Conference, June 25-27, 2010.
The theme of this years conference is Inspiration and Innovation. Dr. Ryan brings both industry as well as educational outlooks to this theme when he addresses the foodservice educators in attendance.
Tim Ryan is well known in the hospitality industry. He was the youngest national president of the American Culinary Federation as well as the youngest person ever to receive Master Chef Certification from that organization.
He was named the ACFs 1998 Chef of the Year and has been awarded the Presidential Medal from the World Association of Cooks Societies. He also captained the U.S. Culinary Olympic Team to a world championship.

Scholarship Topics
Each year there are numerous ways for you to describe what your best practices are and win a free registration to a CAFE event. Here are some specific topics for you to think about. The deadline is April 1.
For the CAFE scholarships (which gives you a free workshop or conference registration), there are three topics from which you may choose one to briefly describe:
Student Learning Through Competitions
Effective Methods Used for Student Retention
Fund Raising Projects
For the Idaho Potato Commission Scholarships (which gives you a free workshop or conference registration plus $300 in reimbursed travel funds), there are two topics from which to choose one to briefly describe:
Does he/she know that CAFE is a website, an on-line magazine, in addition to a provider of professional development for him/her as well as for the foodservice instructors?
Does he know about our FOH National Symposium to be held in Las Vegas March 5-7, 2010, which will include both educational as well as industry updates and speakers in addition to a behind-the-scenes tour of Aria, the newest hotel in Las Vegas?
