CHANGE YOUR MIND
The New Testament often talks about repentance, but we often don't know what it is. Repentance = Change your mind
This happens when we first believe. It goes like this: there was a track playing in your mind about being good to make God happy. At some moment you heard the good news and realized I can't be good enough and Jesus paid it all. A switch flipped in your mind, your mind changed, and your heart became filled with faith...
This repentance is something we do when we come to the Lord, and continues to be a practice of our walk with Him. When the Lord speaks to us about things that are false, the required response is to repent.
We see in the Gospels, that repentance is connected to the Kingdom:
John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.""The time has come,"Jesus said. "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" Jesus taught the same as John the Baptist. Later, Jesus teaches during His "missionary training" say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'
After Jesus ascends into heaven, Peter teaches the same message, "Repent and believe in the King." (Acts 2:38)
When Jesus is the King, and when He is present the Kingdom is near! Since Jesus is with us, the kingdom is future, and yet it is here now!!
We must change our minds and know that the King is here, and His Kingdom is here. Change our minds about what's true!!! Our good and loving King wants us to surrender ourselves to Him. To change our minds and follow Him!
