GOD'S PROMISES

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. (2 Peter 1:3, 4 NIV)

This week is our family church camp at Green Oak Ranch and Phil wanted to introduce the theme to our whole church family-- God's Promises.

Jesus makes the promise of Matthew 11 to everyone in the world:

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

Rest for our souls is only in Jesus! We must step into this promise!

What is this "Yoke?" In essence it is strapping yourself to Jesus. Where he goes, I go.  I learn from him and I am with him.

He carries the yoke/ burden, it's not like we carry half, Jesus has it all and we lock in with him. He carries us...that's why it's easy and light!

MISSION OF THE MONTH- CMA Resources.org
CHURCH MULTIPLICATION ASSOCIATES

We have
had a long and influential relationship with CMA. In fact, Pastor Phil and Neil Cole were two of the founders of this worldwide movement. Our own Mike Jentes also is an integral part of their work as the current coordinator for trainings, conferences and website.

There are a host of free Articles, Audios and Videos posted on the CMA website as well as a modest online book store where you can find some influential resources to encourage and propel the mission of our Lord Jesus.

Check out this short recent video posted to the CMA Resources website that challenges us about what Discipling really is:  This is Discipling

Urgent prayer need:  CMA Executive Director Neil Cole's father is drawing near to death.  Please pray that he might embrace Jesus as Savior and for whole family to experience our Lord in a special way at this time.

Won't you be praying, and give some extra to support them this month? You can do so in the offering on Sunday or to the office or even donate online with the button above!
SATURDAY SCOUT CAR WASH POSTPONED

RUTH VREELAND UPDATE
29 Jul 2011
Dear Los Altos Grace,

I just have to say a big thank you to you for your faithful giving.

I've moved to Wisconsin to be with my middle daughter and her husband. Of course I pay them room and board,so you folks help make that possible. God is good! We did have some 90+ weather for a week a couple weeks ago, but since then it has been in the 80s. Supposed to be 83 today. We get lots of rain and everything is very green. We are in southwest Wisconsin, close to Dubuque, Iowa, where my son-in-law works.

I have many fond memories of LAGBC. I taught at the Christian School there for one year many years ago. I was there when Pastor Nagle was there. He left while I was there.

Sincerely, Ruth Vreeland

If so, contact Andy or Allen Witbeck.
