Alumni Spotlight Dr. Muhamad Ali
Ph.D. - History, Islam, Southeast Asia (University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa 2007) Dr. Muhamad Ali is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Religious Studies at UC Riverside. His most recent works include the book Bridging Islam and the West: An Indonesian View (2009) and a journal article "'They are not All Alike': Indonesian Intellectuals' Perception of Judaism and Jews (2010). more info CSEAS Scholarships and Fellowships:

The Next Generation Leadership program, now entering its sixth year, is training young Asia specialists from a wide variety of fields to bridge the gap between scholarly research and the needs of U.S. policy toward a rapidly changing Asia. The Dissertation Proposal Development Fellowship (DPDF) is organized to help early-stage graduate students in the humanities and social sciences formulate effective doctoral dissertation proposals. These fellowships are offered to recent graduates of masters programs in art conservation or the equivalent or conservation scientists, including those at the postdoctoral level, who wish to conduct research and gain further training in Smithsonian conservation laboratories for a period of one year.
