Southeast Asian Studies Scholars, Institute for East Asian Studies at Sogang (ISEAS) Sogang University, Seoul, Korea Short-term and Long-term Available
Two-three positions are open to those scholars in Southeast Asian studies who have written important books and published academic papers in refereed journals. Promising young scholars who completed their Ph.D. within the last few years will be given priority, but established scholars are also welcome to apply. A tenure- or non-tenure-track position and an assistant to full professorship will be offered to a successful candidate, depending on his or her credentials, who will be appointed for March 1st 2010 and designated as an HK professor. An additional position will be offered to a scholar in Southeast Asian studies who wishes to stay in Korea for a short period of time from six months to one year.

Postdoctoral, Mainland SEA (F/T) University of Freiburg, Germany Begins 1 November 2009
The
advancement of academic qualification is intended. A post doctoral
research project in the field of "Constructions of Self and Other -
reconfigurations of cultural identities" in Mainland Southeast Asia is
envisaged. Furthermore, the institute is to be supported in research
and teaching (4 hrs/week). The position also includes cooperation in
the interdisciplinary area studies network of Southeast Asia in
Freiburg.

Fellowship for American Scholars, Research in Mainland SEA Center for Khmer Studies Short-term & Long-term Available
This
program is open to U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars who have
already earned their Ph.D. in the social sciences and humanities.
Scholars can pursue research in other countries in mainland Southeast
Asia (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Burma, Southern China) provided that
part of their research is undertaken in Cambodia.

2010-2011 The Next Generation Leadership in Asian Affairs Fellowship National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR), Seattle, WA, USA 1 June 2010 - 31 May 2011
The fellowship is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Individuals who have received their master's degree diplomas up to twelve months prior to the application deadline may apply to the program. Applicants must have completed a master's or equivalent professional degree (MA, MBA, LLM, JD, etc.) by the time the fellowship begins. Prospective fellows should apply only for the year that they expect to participate.

Franklin R. Buchanan Prize Association for Asian Studies (AAS) AAS Annual Meeting, Philadelphia, PA, USA March 2010
The winning submission will reflect current scholarship, present innovative teaching strategies, and make a significant impact on the intended audience. Submissions must have been published after January 1, 2008, and include extensive teaching strategies in order to be considered. The prize includes a $1,000 monetary award and a one year membership to AAS.
