Kenilworth Independence Day Parade theme celebrates Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary |
Come celebrate our nation's birthday at the Kenilworth (Baton Rouge) parade on Tuesday, July 3, at 6:30 p.m. A group of local Girl Scouts will march to lead the parade, which features military and civic groups, bagpipers, antique cars, buggies, elected officials, horse groups, and more.
Girl Scouts interested in marching with their delegation as the lead "Grand Marshal" unit for the parade should contact the regional service center at 225-927-8946. Don't forget to bring water, even though there are water stations along the route! |
| Girl Scouts can now re-register online |
In an effort to reduce paperwork and simplify member registration, Girl Scouts can now re-register as members online, using the council's eBiz link on the council website at www.gsle.org. Annual national membership dues for the 2013 membership year are $12 per person, and troops are always encouraged to participate in council
fall product program and to re-register using troop funds.
Re-registration gives your Girl Scout top priority with regards to placement, especially in areas with few adult volunteers, and gives her and her troop a jumpstart in the fall. It also allows the council to plan for next year, work on placement issues over the summer, and helps determine the number of new leaders needed. Girls may also register as individually registered Girl Scouts. For more information, please email info@gsle.org. |
