 | Girl Scouts say Thanks for Giving |
We are thankful to have you in our circle of friends, and grateful for your support of Girl Scouts Louisiana East. It is because of people like you Girl Scouts is able to provide the leadership programs girls need, a nurturing environment where girls thrive, and the service and learning opportunities girls want, empowering them to make a difference within their own communities. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated. Thank you! |
 | Turn in membership registration forms by December 15, in order to participate in Cookie Sale |
The Cookie Sale is right around the corner (begins January 21), so make sure your troop has submitted every girl member's 2011 membership form no later than December 15, since the Cookie eBudde system data will be imported from our membership database. If a girl's completed membership form has not been received by December 15, she will be unable to participate in the 2011 Cookie program. Importing this information directly from our membership database is saving our volunteers an enormous amount of time, as well as enhanced consistency. This information was shared during the service unit level Cookie Management training in November. |

First Scouting for Supper a Success; let's do it again December 13 & 14 |
A big thank you to everyone who came out for supper at our very first Scouting for Supper restaurant fundraising event. We got some great turn-out all around our council, and even some restaurants calling us asking to participate! So, we plan to do it again on Monday, December 13 and Tuesday, December 14, during regular dinner hours (lunch too, at select restaurants). On these dates, restaurants from around our 23 parishes will partner to raise money for Girl Scouts while attracting patrons and new clients to their business. Every restaurant is donating 10-20% of their dinner proceeds to Girl Scouts Louisiana East!
We've got restaurants like Chili's, Applebee's, Italian Pie, Chevy's, Rotolo's Pizzeria, as well as many others, at numerous locations. Click here to see the list of participating restaurants/locations, and to download a flyer if it's required to be brought in at time of purchase. Please make sure to tell your server or cashier you're there to support Girl Scouts and/or give them the flyer, if required.
Please contact Carrie Thomas at 504-355-5885 or Jodie Laurent at 504-481-5664 to participate or for more information.
