How long have you been with TransACT? Almost 4 months.
Please describe what you do:
I am the eastern region account manager, helping school districts in states from Minnesota down to Louisiana and east to the Atlantic. My main focus is subscription implementation through training and educating on new products and services. I also handle all aspects of customer care and support with the renewal process.
Birthplace: Mount Vernon, WA
Birthday: June 27th, same day as my daughter!
College: Eastern Washington University
What was your favorite subject in school? I enjoyed history and communications. I was one of "those people" who liked the thrill of giving speeches!
What aspect of working at TransACT do you enjoy the most? I love showing a new customer the resources that they have access to. Making someone's job easier, especially in the hectic world of education, really makes me feel good about what I do. Whether it is showing a principal how to gain compliance by using the NCLB RoadMaps to showing an ELL Teacher how easy it is to communicate with the parent community in the language that they speak. The best part of my job is when I get feedback from a user who's student's parents were thrilled about the fact that they could track their child's progress through the school system.
When do you feel successful in life? I was the first generation to go to college, so graduating with honors was quite a success.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy? Although I have lived in the NW my whole life, I hate the rain! I love to walk the beaches and go crabbing with my dad, walking with my mom, shopping with my friends and trying to occupy my 2-year-old daughter, Piper, with constant activities. Keeping up with a toddler is my biggest challenge in life, especially now that she is in the terrible 2's!
Whom do you admire most? My husband, Rob, because he has passion in what he does, whether it be teaching or coaching wrestling. He loves what he does and he manages to impact so many lives, just by taking the extra time needed to get to the root of their problems. He is a very patient person, as I am high strung, so he can rationalize all situations.
If you were not at TransACT, what would be your dream job? Definitely an event planner. I love the creativity of planning and then executing on perfection as well as being able to orchestrate the perfect event. I am a severe time manager, which would assist in the process of this job! Second dream job would be to own a doggy daycare and run a rescue organization for homeless animals.
