FALL FESTIVAL COMMITTEE MEETING

Friday, September 14, 8:00am in the Teacher's Lounge
The Fall Festival is a fun family event with festival games, food and lots of fun!
This year's event will be held on
Sunday, October 14th, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm
Join the team of volunteers that makes this great event happen!
Our next meeting will be held on
Friday, September 14 at 8:00am in the Teacher's Lounge.  
We can always use MORE volunteers for this great event so come
join us if you are interested.

DADS CLUB MEETING AND CLASSROOM VISIT 

Thursday, September 13

Please join us at 8:00am in front of the MUR for a  

very brief introductory Dads Club meeting followed by a  

30-minute classroom visit to your kids' classrooms.   

The children love to see us there so please try to make this visit if possible.

Sage Canyon and Jamie Moore have teamed up once again
to bring you the 2012 Family Portrait Event!
For a special price of $100, your family will have a
a 15-minute mini-session which includes:
An 8" x 10" photograph of your choice plus a digital file of the same photo.
Additional photos can be purchased at a 25% discount.
Jamie will be donating 50% of the mini-session fee to the Sage Canyon PTA.

SAGE CANYON STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS

Elections for student council members start this week!

Tuesday, September 11:

Posters & parent/teacher permission slips are due back to the office by 3:00pm.

(No late posters will be permitted)  

Wednesday September 12 & Thursday, September 13 

All 3rd-6th Graders will have an opportunity to view  

the posters and vote for 1 student in each of the 6 positions.  

 (President, V.P., Treasurer, Secretary, Spirit Officer, and Community Service Officer)  

Friday, September 21

The votes will be counted and results will be shared at 2:20pm in the MUR.  

Five students with the highest number of votes in each  

position will continue to the final election.

 

  STUDENT COUNCIL POSITIONS

6th Grade Positions 

President - run meetings

Community Service Officers - lead community service projects  

such as canned food drive or toy drive
5th Grade Positions

Vice President - run meetings if Presidents are absent & DJ the end of year picnic

Spirit Officer - share spirit day information with primary grades & DJ dance parties
4th Grade Positions

Secretary - attendance at meetings and taking notes at meetings

Treasurer - in charge of counting fundraising money raised

Everyone dropping off or picking up kids from school has  

the responsibility to know the safe-driving procedures  

for drop-off and pick-up at our school.

information on our morning drop-off guidelines.
Please allow a little extra time to get to school in the morning,  
be courteous to our volunteers and follow their directions
so that we can keep traffic moving and students safe.  
We have an immediate need for more  

Assisted Drop-off morning volunteers!  
This is a great way to donate a specific amount of time  

to a program that immediately impacts our school.   

All it takes is 20 minutes one day a week or  

even one day every other week, please help!

VOLUNTEERS!

Our school would not be a success without you!   

It's that time of year when we are again soliciting  

volunteers for 2012/2013 activities.  So, go ahead, find your niche!   

There's something for everyone!

If you want to help students make healthy choices, join  

our Red Ribbon Day team.  We are in immediate need of volunteers  

for this upcoming event.  Contact Lexi Hull or Maria Bogucki  

(bogucki1@sbcglobal.net, lexihull@gmail.com)

If you are concerned about safety, join our Assisted  

Drop Off team in the morning.  If you have 20 minutes one  

morning a week, assist students getting to school in a safe and timely manner.

If you love photography, join our Yearbook team.   

We are looking for photographers at each grade level as  

well as Yearbook page coordinators.  This is a great way to capture  

all those special smiles at Sage Canyon.
