       Sonny Celebrates 50 Years!
On July 12th, Sonny Canale celebrates his 50th year
as owner and operator of Exotic Flowers. He bought Lombardi Florist in 1957. He had been employed there since childhood. Lombardi's had been a successful florist since the early 1900's. In 1959, Sonny married Marie Russo Canale and merged with her flower shop, Russo's Florist.

In 1993, foreseeing the changing economy, Sonny adopted the name Exotic Flowers for its primary signature. In 1994, a satellite location opened at 2 Dartmouth St in Boston's south end. This location closed in 2002. In 1995, Sonny opened a full service florist and garden center on route 3A in Cohasset. Sonny sold this store to his daughter Lauren in 2000. In June 2001. Sonny opened his flagship retail store in Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Roslindale Remains company headquarters.
