Italy! La Dolce Vita! Italy!

Some women have inquired if we were going to Italy this fall.  Yes!  Italy is now on for this fall with the addition of 3 nights in Rome to our fabulous original itinerary.  Arrive in Rome September 20th where you will settle for three nights to savour The Eternal City and all that Rome offers.  Then you will travel to Florence via Eurostar for 3 more nights.  What's not to love about Florence?  We continue our meandering in Tuscan hill towns including Pienza which is a World Heritage Site and Lucca which is an exquisite walled town.  You then travel to Venice for your final few days in the land of La Dolce Vita.

Our Italy trip is indeed magnifico....  Did I mention wine sampling, gelato, cheeses, olive oil tastings melding with art, architecture, pastoral landscapes to remember always....and most importantly, the people who are wonderfully gracious.  Since this trip is totally spontaneous on my end, I need your cooperation with your reservations now.  One client from Australia is coming.  Will you join us for a sampler of Italy which will leave you wanting to return?  Email me pr@serendipitytraveler.com  saying yes I want to go to Italy and am in! We will have a grand time on this jaunt.

Britain's Best

Writing now about our annual May English Garden Tour and my research jaunt to Scotland.  Lots of travel inspiration percolating.  The English Countryside never ceases to stir the imagination and senses.  I arrived home flying high from the tour and a surprise visit from our youngest daughter.  Within hours of my leaving the UK, everyone gathered at our home for a lobster feast and of course my tales of English travel sprinkled in. England never disappoints and this year the Queens Jubilee Celebration with all the events, displays and spirited energy it was hopping.  The Victoria and Albert Museum offered a sparkling exhibit of 60 years of Ball Gowns, complimented by Harrods' window display of ball gowns.  I surprised the women with tickets at Bath Abbey for a Queen's Jubilee Concert featuring 60 years of British Music and of course we all hummed along with LOVE from The Beatles with the Brits.  After all, it's the experiences that make a trip memorable.  The gardens were glorious and our stay at the Stonehouse was walking back in time.  As I told my granddaughter, we slept in a family house built before Christopher Columbus discovered America.  The women travelers all fun and spirited were a lovely group to travel with.  Thanks for making my work easy.  Somehow our website sorts and sifts out the women travelers who join us and so far there isn't one woman I wouldn't invite back to travel again.  In fact, I feel totally blessed with those who come traveling with us.  It's not too soon for you to reserve for 2013.

FAQ
From time to time I share with you the most frequently asked questions in our newsletter. Please email or call if you have any other questions. My mobile is 978 879 7464.

What age are the travelers?
We encourage women of all ages to travel with us.  The spirit is ageless! When a trip will require above average physical activity we will state that. If you have any medical problems that may limit your travel, please check with your physician for assessment.   Most trips do require lots of walking.  Most women come alone and most are in the 45-70 age range.

Is this a lesbian travel company?
No, we are not a lesbian travel company.   All are welcome.

What to Bring?
Travel light. We always pack more than we need.   Dress comfortably - layers usually work well.  Remember comfortable walking shoes.  For our garden tours, shoes that don't mind water are great.  For tropical trips, less is more.  A travel umbrella with a lightweight raincoat is always a good idea.  Call if you have any questions.  If there is anything particular you will need we will note that in our trip packet we send you.

Can I stay longer or arrive earlier?
Absolutely, please contact me.  We can help arrange the necessary details for most itineraries.

Do I need additional money?
Most expenses are included.  You will need money for a few lunches, dinners, and of course your personal shopping.  Additional spa services, alcohol, laundry, telephone, and custom fees as appropriate may require additional funds.  ATM machines are readily available and are the easiest way for you to access funds as needed.  It is best to have a MasterCard or Visa with you.  Often times, American Express is not accepted.  It is best to arrive with some local currency.

Do you organize custom tours?
Yes, we are happy to arrange specific trips for families, book clubs, garden clubs, mothers and daughters, friends, sisters, and businesswomen.  We craft each journey with great attention to all details and your travel dreams!

Do I need insurance?
Insurance is strongly recommended.  I suggest Travel Guard online for basic policies.

Do I pay extra for traveling alone?
No it doesn't cost any more to travel with us when traveling solo.  There are no single supplements charged on any of Serendipity Traveler's tours and you will enjoy your own private room.

Can I order a travel Gift Certificate?
Yes, please go to Gift Certificates and place your order for any of our women only tours.

How far in advance should I book my trip?
This depends how far in advance you prefer to plan.  We sometimes have last-minute space available and we have some women who reserve far in advance.  As soon as you know you want to travel is a good time to make your reservations.  I recommend sooner for best airfares and seat selections.

Can I reserve a trip if I don't live in America?
Absolutely! Our women travelers come from as far away as Australia to travel with us.

What really is a private tour?
A private tour means we have our own guides and drivers and we are not traveling with a larger group.  Our groups are small with no more than 6 women on most trips.  This offers you the best of travel for independent women who prefer to travel with a few others and not the masses.

How is Serendipity Traveler different from other tour companies?
This can be summed up in two words, Care and Expertise.  Our care for each traveler is exemplary and we do whatever it takes to help you travel well and comfortably.  Our expertise has been honed with decades of traveling well and a standard of comfort and luxe that offers you value.  We don't suggest over the top.  We like real comfort and authenticity.  Our tours are each designed for quintessential experiences that will be long remembered.  Our guides and drivers are the finest.  Our accommodations are all personally selected for location, ambience, charm, and stellar management.

Turkish Delights

Istanbul offers 5,000 years of history with each view.  Fabled with its mosques whose minarets reach for the sky, the bazaars which bustle with treasures and both the sea of Marmara and the Bosphorous providing postcard perfect vistas.  If you have missed out on our Turkey tour this autumn plan for 2013.  We will sip raki, the local favored aperitif, munch platters of figs, visit the Hagia Sophia mosque and travel to Ephesus, Capadoccia and numerous other locales throughout Turkey.  This trip includes 3 intra country flights so you will experience the distinctive regions and flavors throughout the country.

Nova Scotia

My husband and I leave this week for our cottage to spend summertime in Nova Scotia.

Our Nova Scotia tour in July is coming soon and the travel planning, researching and tours continue for me.  The month of August is my month to unwind and replenish while I share time with family and friends, play in the garden, catch up on reading and kayak often.  I am moving towards being able to kayak to the end of our peninsula and back this year.  Last year I almost made it but the winds picked up and my energy didn't.  Wish me well.  Then for me, it's off to Turkey and Italy and for my husband, a trip to Wales.  He sings in a choir and they are traveling to Wales for a week of music.  Life keeps moving and with it come memories etched while sailing on the wings of grace.
