Classic, Eco, Active, Luxe, Savvy

Words often describe the kind of traveler you are. Our tours are classic, eco, active, luxe and memorable. Which style fits you best; or is it a combination that resonates? Serendipity Traveler blends those five words and several more into our trips. We take classic destinations choosing accommodations that are luxe and eco friendly. We arrange active days for each trip with thoughtfully created itineraries providing luxe with solid value for savvy women's travel. When traveling with a small group you can relax without worry about the details.

Weekend by The Sea

As many of you know, I live in the picturesque coastal village of Rockport, Massachusetts; a quiet seaside gem. We visit Rockport on our Autumn in New England trip. In 2012, I am offering you a mid spring weekend by the sea in Rockport in May. Our time together will begin on Friday and end Monday morning. You will stay in one of my favorite charming historical inns within walking distance to the sea and village. We will tour the area, visit studios of local women artisans including potters, glassblowers, painters, and jewelers. We will eat where the locals do, explore notable art galleries and tour The Cape Ann Museum. We will walk by the sea and discover the quarries at Halibut Pt. and eat lobster if you want to. All transport will be provided to and from Boston's Logan Airport. You will enjoy a seaside weekend in a favorite coastal New England village before the crush of summer folks arrive. Spring on Cape Ann is special. Get acquainted with our Serendipity Traveler style and a charming village by the sea on Cape Ann. Check the website in the next week for details on our first Weekend by The Sea.

Kind Words

We always like kind words. Serendipity Traveler was featured in this months issue of Ranch and Coast in San Diego. Elizabeth Hansen, a seasoned travel editor says, " I also really like the philosophy behind the trips offered by Serendipity Traveler: thoughtful, imaginative, and enriching travel experiences combined with personal service and the luxury of a tailor-made journey."

After unplugging for a week in early November, I came home to another notable mention of Serendipity Traveler. This time from Dian Emery, founder of Girlfriend Getaways based in Canada, who included us in her recommendations of best women's travel resources. It is truly rewarding to be connecting with women who are Living the Dream. Please share the news of Serendipity Traveler, the little women's travel company that intends to stay small, caring, friendly, and exceptional.

Inspiration

Desiderata

Serendipity lead me to discovering the poem Desiderata in the early 70's.. It is one of my favorites, enjoy!

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant,
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
