Chelsea Flower Show
I'm counting the days until we depart for our annual English Garden Tour and the Chelsea Flower Show. A few interesting notes about Chelsea... - Approximately 2,000 bottles of champagne and more than 65,000 cups of tea are served at Chelsea
- The showground covers 11 acres.
- The Great Pavillion, with the show's indoor displays, is 12,000 square metres.
- The 2011 Chelsea Flower Show is the 89th held at the Royal Chelsea Hospital.
- We will be attending on RHS member's only day.
- It takes 15 months to plan each show. The gardens and displays take 800 people over three weeks to build.
- Tickets have been limited to157,000 since 1988.
- Last year, BBC broadcast the show to approximately 2.2 million viewers.
- Nearly 600 new plants have been launched at Chelsea in recent years.
- We offer our Chelsea Flower Show trip every May.
- We only take a few women and are starting a list for 2012 reservations now.

California
California Dreaming trip.......plan to join us this November... The weather will be sunny, clear, and dry... it never rains in sunny California until winter or spring. I learned this when sending my youngest to kindergarten in Carmel with her rain jacket on in September on what looked like a rainy day. After a few days of the raincoat/umbrella routine, a mother queried me, "You are new here aren't you? Yes, I replied and then she told me it never rains here until winter." We enjoyed glorious sunny days all fall and into January. That winter, like this one, it rained really hard and often. Fall is one of the finest times to travel this region. The fog is gone and the air is crisp. The sun is still warm. You will wander the streets of San Francisco, sip wine in Napa, meander along the coast of the Monterey Peninsula, and discover Carmel by The Sea and the magnificent Big Sur coast. Reserve now to see the best of this region of California.

Wildflowers in Wyoming
All the details are in place for our Walking in Wyoming adventure the first day of summer. The Grand Tetons are majestic, the peak bloom of the wildflowers should be happening, and those Bison are just so much fun to see in person. We can take one more so reserve now if you wish to join us. Our accommodations are at Hotel Terra in Teton Village which is a few minutes from the Park entrance and walking trails. For galleries and shopping, we will spend time and dine around in Jackson Hole proper.

La Dolce Vita
If you have ever wanted to go to Tuscany, join us in October to share the best of this magical region. The people, food, history and landscapes all meld to create a place apart. This trip is timed for autumn. The crowds will be less and your days memorable. If you want to take a longer trip, I will be going on to Venice via the Eurostar for three nights and invite you to come along. The Venice portion of this tour will be optional. Those who need to get back home can depart and others can carry on as they wish. Sometimes a week is all some women can schedule and other women want a longer trip. This seems like a great way for many of you to experience La Dolce Vita with us.
La Dolce Vita details will be posted on the Serendipity Traveler website next week.

Weekend by The Sea
In our last newsletter, I mentioned creating a trip to Rockport, Massachusetts. Rockport, which is also where I live much of the year and call home, is on Cape Ann north of Boston. I will be offering this trip on our 2012 calendar.

A Letter
"Dear Passport, It has been too long. Some more stamps soon? Love, Your old friend Kate." This Facebook post was entered by my Godchild Kate, a shining new Mom who is dreaming of travel and days to come when she will be traveling again. Travel inspires, juices our life, and affords us endless dreams and stories. Regardless of the chapter you are in from new Mom to Grandmother, it is important each year to check in with your passport and go traveling! There may come a time when you no longer can accomplish traveling pursuits. Then, sitting with your passport, you will cherish your travels.
