Greetings, Twenty Ten is well underway and already our days are zooming by. How can one hold on to time? We all have the same 24/7. Some are able to accomplish much while others less. Perhaps that is what makes our world go round. We each discover our own approaches to the gift of time.

Air Travel 2010 Happy to report the last decade of air travel was the safest in years even when including the deaths of 911. Today one needs to allow more time for the airport portion of the trip. Arrive earlier than necessary, read a book, walk, sit, and dream of your trip. Be prepared for security. Sure, the media likes to highlight the craziness of play dough being taken from a child. However, for the millions of travelers that move through security each day, things move pretty darn good although sometimes slowly. If you are carrying your luggage, keep it light and put your toiletries in a clear ziplock bag in your purse that you can take out and put in the bin to go with your shoes through the scanners. Don't wear a lot of jewelry and remember a jacket needs scanning too.

Charleston
Before we know it we will be heading to Charleston, one of America's favorite cities. Spring will be in the air, gardens will be blooming and we will meander, stroll, and amble; taking in all that Charleston has to offer us. I have timed this trip to coordinate with The Charleston Garden Club's 75th Anniversary tour. Tickets must be purchased soon for The Garden Club tour. Spring time is one of the very best times to visit Charleston before the humidity and hotter temperatures arrive.

Jane Austen in New York
If you are a Jane Austen fan, The Morgan Library exhibit "A Women's Wit, Jane Austen's Life and Legacy" is enchanting." This exhibition explores the life, work, and legacy of Jane Austen (1775-1817), regarded as one of the greatest English novelists. Offering a close-up portrait of the iconic British author, whose popularity has surged over the last two decades with numerous motion picture and television adaptations of her work, the show provides tangible intimacy with Austen through the presentation of more than 100 works, including her manuscripts, personal letters, and related materials, many of which the Morgan has not exhibited in over a quarter century." The exhibit runs until March 14th. The Morgan Library and Museum is located at 225 Madison Ave. in New York City.

Inspiration
Gale Hull, founder and CEO of Partners in Development, has been caring for people in Haiti for the last 20 years. I met her last year when she was speaking locally. Gale is in Haiti now. The houses she has built withstood the earthquake as they used steel reinforcement rods in the process. The clinic they built is a beehive of activity caring for the wounded. Traveling with supplies, Gale and a team arrived on Sunday. She knows her work will never end. CNN, Fox and local stations have interviewed her and you can learn more at www.pidonline.org. This verse etched in our hearts by young origami artist Sadako Sasaki comes to mind as I think of Haiti and the people from all over the world traveling to help make a difference.
"I will write peace on your wings and you will fly all over the world"
