R Words for May
Remember
With our newsletter arriving in your inbox a few days after Memorial Day in America, remember seems fitting for my monthly R words thoughts. Many people who we remember on Memorial Day have sacrificed to assure our freedom and that of our children and grandchildren. We remember with the utmost respect and gratitude our loved ones who have passed on and the gifts they left us with. Rockport has a simple and inspirational Memorial Day parade and ceremony. The older Veterans ride in cars while Brownies, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the school bands all march along with the Policemen and Firemen.
The first part of the ceremony is at the cemetery where the kindergarten children, all dressed up, carry freshly cut spring bouquets to place on the grave. The school band plays, a firing squad salutes, Flanders Field is read, taps are played and echoed before the procession moves to the Old Harbor wharf where a wreath is tossed into the Atlantic to remember those lost at sea. The entire morning is a brilliant essay on remembering. Each of us has our collection of memories and everyone filters their experiences of life into memories. A year from now we will celebrate Memorial Day again with our old memories and the new memories we've collected each day.

Maritime Magic Walking by the Sea in Nova Scotia is just around the corner this July. We have a few spots left on this trip which is timed to coincide with the worldwide Tall Ships arrival in the seaport of Halifax. Our boutique hotel is centrally located and within easy walking distance to the waterfront and in the midst of the history that surrounds us. As the week unfolds, we move along the coast to explore the quiet coves, colorful villages, and magical landscape that make this region of the Canadian Maritimes a photographer's paradise. The lovely historical inn we stay at in Lunenburg serves yummy homemade breakfasts to start your day. When it's hot and humid at home, the Atlantic sea breeze refreshes and restores your spirit in Nova Scotia. Check the website for details! |
I never dreamed that women traveling together could be so open, warm and so much fun! The friendships forged traveling with you are an unexpected joy of my work. I have not yet had a client that wasn't delightful to travel with. Although different and distinct, each woman seems to flow with our itineraries and appreciates our style of travel. We are not a lesbian or gay travel company and all women are welcome to join us. Talking to each of you before traveling is a must to be sure that our trips are best suited for your wishes and dreams. We do not want to disappoint and we are hitting a 100% satisfied. I think being small is what differentiates us from others. Travel with us is like calling an old friend to go traveling with. If you mention something that you require, we take care of it. If you let us know you are a night owl or an early bird, we listen. If arriving earlier or staying a few days later is your preference, we make it happen and handle the details for you. I look forward to continuing to build our client base of 100% happy travelers traveling together.

Boston Weekend
You will experience a sampler of historic Boston, one of America's most loved cities. Nearby Essex County affords a glimpse of the Atlantic coast with its beautiful salt marshes, lighthouses and fishing villages. Timed in between summer and fall, this trip offers great relief from the heat of Florida or Texas and is a perfect transition from the lazy days of summer to the crisp days of October.

Autumn in New England
On this trip you will experience a week of the best of autumn. From Boston to New Hampshire and Vermont and ending in the coastal village of Rockport, the week offers you diversity in landscapes, villages, history and more. A gentle pace that keeps us moving best describes this week as we will sleep in three spots which is a bit unusual for me. In order to discover the essence of Vermont, traverse the mountains of New Hampshire and the experience the Best of Boston, I have planned a series of chapters, each unique and ending on the Atlantic coast of Cape Ann. Described by National Geo Traveler as an undiscovered gem, Cape Ann is the lesser known of the two capes. Cape Cod is the better known Cape in Massachusetts and we, who for years have lived on Cape Ann, see that our secret is getting out. Historical inns, fresh seafood, walks, antiques, covered bridges, artisan studios and more make this trip real fun. One of my very favorite travelers from Chicago is coming. She traveled with us to England last year and is great fun to travel with. If you are thinking of joining us on this trip, please reserve soon.
