Greetings,
Spring is in the air here in Rockport and the days are getting warmer and brighter. Welcome to the newest readers of the newsletter and thanks to all those who keep reading and dreaming each month.  I am having fun working to offer you the best of the best in authentic women's travel experiences.

The R Words Continue
Renew!  As old man winter leaves us and the spring bulbs begin to emerge, our senses and sensibilities shift.  We will soon put away the mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, silk underwear, wool socks, boots, vests and down jackets.  Our walks may be longer.  The light now lingers across the dinner table and sunsets aren't until 7 ish.  To renew means adding vigor to life.  In our busyness, how do we renew ourselves each day?  What do we do that adds vigor to our life?  Take time this day, this week, this month, this year to renew yourself often.  Sometimes renewal may mean traveling. Sometimes doing nothing! From the Caribbean Islands  there is a phrase I learned to appreciate......

"Sometimes I sits and thinks And sometimes I just sits."

Walking in Nova Scotia
This trip is close to my heart.  As some of you know, our family spends summers at our cottage in Nova Scotia.  Your accommodations will be a luxe small hotel in the seaport of Halifax and a lovely historical inn in the UNESCO village of Lunenburg.  National Geographic Traveler annually publishes its rating of the 100 Best Historic Places in the World and I am happy to tell you we travel to several.  Our summer Walking in Nova Scotia week visits Lunenburg a, UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Here is what National Geo writes about Lunenburg, "Great example of a living-heritage community.  Parks Canada's involvement has resulted, and will continue to result, in resources for preservation of many of the buildings and features.  Best surviving example of the British colonial policy of imposing a model town design in Canada."
This is National Geo's fifth survey and evaluates the qualities that make a destination unique; measuring, "integrity of place." " It is not a popularity contest, but rather an assessment of authenticity and stewardship."

When deciding on where to offer our trips for women travelers, authenticity is one of the key ingredients in my selection.  There are many places that are popular and many fewer which have retained their character, charm and authenticity.

Paris and London
We put the Paris and London trip up on the website just after the February newsletter went out so, for those of you who missed the news, please check out the details on our website.
Included is a full day outing to Giverny to wander in the village and gardens that Monet loved.  Our Champagne River trip departs from the Eiffel Tower so we will see the well known and lesser known areas of Paris.  The Eurostar is a comfortable way to travel between the two cities.  While in London, I have planned a days excursion to one of the most lovely areas in England, the quintessential Cotswolds.  An optional evening at the theatre is offered and we always reserve for Tea at the Ritz.  Please click here to see all the details.

England in May
We have room for just one more to join us.  Our lodging will be at The Knightsbridge Hotel in London and The Stone House, Rushlake Green, in Sussex, both perfectly situated for exploring.  Airfare is still unbelievably low and if you fly American Airlines you will get an additional 25,000 air miles.  Call us for your reservation.

Women's History Month
Meet Jane Addams, Social Worker and First American to win the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1931.  I had not heard of Jane Addams until her birthday appeared on my daily calendar.  I was working on Serendipity Traveler newsletters and thought aha, I will share   this inspiring woman.  Jane Adams was an exceptional woman who chose to make a difference.  We all need inspiration, encouragement and mentors to walk alongside us on our journeys.  May your journeys bring you closer to those who inspire you.
