Style of Travel
We stay at finer accommodations when we travel. The first standard in my choice of lodging is always location. In London, for example, we are staying in the Knightsbridge neighborhood a few blocks to Harrods one way and the Victoria and Albert the other. I think location is important for discovery as you can walk about the city or village or town to explore. Equally important to location, is comfort which comprises luxury. I don't need over the top and I don't want shabby which isn't chic either. That puts us in the range of four stars most times and when I negotiate a special price sometimes we find our way to a five star property as we did last year in Jackson Hole at The Four Seasons. I like to spend dollars wisely while maintaining a distinct point of difference from any other company offering women trips and we work hard to do just that. We rarely use chains, always want character, comfort and charm, and especially enjoy family owned or small group properties that are exceptionally well managed. A family owned historical property that is well run is always a gem to find and with our hands on research we do uncover lesser known gems. A Best Western in Venice just doesn't match our standards or a Holiday Inn in Paris isn't what we look for. While traveling for business in Chicago, either may be acceptable choices however, we consider your leisure time differently and assume you want something authentic and special to remember. In London, the Firmdale group who owns the property we sleep in, has won the Queen's Award for their work in the hotel business. If it's good enough for the queen it is good enough for us.

In July, we travel to the Maritimes of Atlantic Canada which is a lesser known and rich region of the eastern seaboard. Escape summer humidity and feel the salty breezes refresh you. We'll visit the south shore of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Click to View Itinerary

Walking in Wyoming
For women who relish the outdoors, the splendor of the magical Grand Tetons, our autumn Walking in Wyoming trip, is a perfect choice. We spend our days outdoors amidst the splendor of the Grand Tetons National Park. Located in northwestern Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park preserves a spectacular landscape rich with majestic mountains, pristine lakes and extraordinary wildlife. The abrupt vertical rise of the jagged Teton Range contrasts with the horizontal sage-covered valley and glacial lakes at their base and provides world class scenery. We have added horseback riding as an option this year. At the end of the week, a massage at one of the wonderful spas at Teton Village is included for your pure relaxation and well being. Inspiration
As the lilacs begin to bloom, I am mystified how a fragrance can fill my world with heaven and my heart with thankfulness for the beauty of life here on earth.
"It is a wholesome and necessary thing for us to turn again to the earth and in the contemplation of her beauties to know of wonder and humility."
Rachel Carson
