Time
Last fall, while enjoying Grand Friends Day at my granddaughters' school, each grade presented a song and you can imagine the young spirits soaring. The girls in 8th grade performed from the musical Rent...We have 525,600 minutes in a year... I pondered to myself, how was I using 525,600 precious minutes and noted to remember this theme for the January newsletter and my days to come. Where will we go, who will we meet, what will we do, see, taste, smell, absorb, touch and feel? What will we remember and cherish? What will surprise us? How will we choose to spend our life's moments, days and weeks...in 2008?
We all have the same 525,600 minutes in a year! Which of our dreams will unfold? Whatever you choose my wish is that it will make your heart sing, enrich your life and others and, at the end of the year, be one of your cherished memories. My recent American Express brochure tells me we travel to see the world, to luxuriate, to meet new people, to explore other cultures, to do nothing, to savor new tastes, to walk, to listen to a concert, to join friends, to sleep under the stars. Yes!! I would add we travel to restore and nourish ourselves, to laugh, to play, to learn and let our spirits soar! We travel to dream.

Are we a Lesbian Travel Company? In our December newsletter, I stated that we are not a lesbian travel company in my effort to answer this frequent asked question politely. I apologize if I offended anyone. However, this is a ongoing question and the answer is helpful to women planning to travel with us. All women are welcome to travel with us. Can I arrive earlier and stay longer? Yes, we will help you arrange those individual plans if requested. I am traveling alone do I need to pay more? No! We will match you up with a roommate if that is your wish. Some women prefer private accommodations and there is a charge for private rooms.
Is there a guide for the entire trip? Yes, I travel on our trips and thoroughly enjoy taking care of all the details and making sure that your trip is the best possible experience for you. We hire local expert guides for the regional knowledge, specific guides activities, and specialty lectures, tours etc.
Is airfare included? No. We realize that many of you wish to make your own air arrangements and perhaps use specific airlines or air miles, etc. We are happy to assist anyone needing help with the airlines. We provide you with the time and place of arrivals and departures upon confirming your reservation.
I have answered more questions on our FAQ page on the website. If you have questions that are still unanswered please give me a call, email or visit the website.

Vermont and Custom Celebration Trips
Just returned from a snow filled weekend of travel in southern Vermont in Robert Frost's backyard and working to put the finishing touches on a 16 day custom trip we are coordinating and leading for a group of Australia women this autumn. We will begin in San Francisco using our California coast itinerary and then explore autumn in New England ending with 4 days in New York City. Editing where we will go, what we will explore, where to stay, which guides to use, where to find great dining, walking paths, architecture, history and the essence of an area is my daily work. I relish the details and fine tuning a trip that will enrich, surprise and be remembered among the best traveling memories and experiences of our travelers. If any of you have a 45th, 50,55, 58, 60, 62, 65, 70 birthday or a graduation, new job, mother and daughter getaways, sisters, women in the family, college friends reunion, or any reason to plan a celebration women's trip, we will work with you to tailor your dreams and wishes into a most memorable time.

I was interviewed for a feature on Women's Travel which appeared in the Sunday Travel section Sunday North of the Eagle Tribune, Massachusetts December 2, 2007.
On January 6, 2008, the feature on Women's Itineraries by Richard Carpenter in the Sunday Boston Globe Travel Section included Serendipity Traveler as a local resource for Massachusetts women.
Next the New York Times....

Inspiration
I leave you with the approximately 504,000 minutes we have left in 2008; we already have experienced 21,600 of them. I wonder how we will spend the half a million left? I have always enjoyed the sentiments of New England poet Robert Frost's well loved poem, Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
