Greetings, As always, a warm welcome to all the women who have joined us recently. I just returned from our Walking in Wyoming trip which was splendid. The Grand Tetons are truly majestic. The wildlife was abundant, the autumn colors were glorious and the women traveling were especially delightful.
Women traveling in small groups offer the travelers engaging conversations, laughter, new friends. We always travel to beautiful places to explore. I hope you will join us on one of our upcoming jaunts. Call me at 1-800-975-2357 to talk and reserve your trip.

Autumn
Autumn has arrived in the Northeast and with it crisp clear days and a hint of the north winds beginning to blow. Fresh pressed apple cider, homemade apple pies, applesauce and Gram's apple crisp all seem to find their way to the dinner table. Harvest festivals abound and picking your own apples is a way to spend a sunny afternoon. Our Classic Autumn in New England trip will be an annual offering. You can make your reservations for Autumn in New England, October 2008 now. October is one of the very best times to visit the Northeast with the fall spectacle of colors so traditionally magnificent and inspiring.

Travel Style
"While at our cottage in Canada in the summer, I generally browse the
Toronto Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper. In August, the
paper had a travel feature called Bliss Breaks... those two words
totally sum up the Serendipity Traveler style of travel. Shortly
afterwards, I visited my favorite farm stand whose vibrant owner is an
especially friendly woman who spends her time between Nova Scotia and
Mexico. Her painterly sign on the incredibly beautiful peaches read,
"Take one in the bath with you". I thought ahhhhhhh a mini bliss
break... When checking out, I complimented Joanne on her marketing of
peaches and we had a good laugh together. Peaches must have been best
sellers that day!! I looked at the line and we all had some in our
baskets... So what is a Bliss Break? For me it means taking time for
your renewal, experiencing nature, playing, going somewhere close or
far away and transporting yourself for a moment in time to enrich your
life and soak in the wonder and sacredness of life. At Serendipity
Traveler we experience bliss breaks wherever we go. Bliss as defined
by Webster's - "a feeling or state of well being and contentment..."
Each of us will define bliss differently... however, if you are looking
for a Bliss Break, call us 1-800-975-2357 to reserve one of our
upcoming trips.

California Dreaming
What better way to begin January than a coastal trip to sunny California. We start our days together in San Francisco, the city by the bay and then meander to wine country in the north and begin our journey down the Pacific coast. We perch in Carmel for our exploration of the region and continue on as far south as Big Sur and the awesome landscape that hugs the winding road. The weather is sweater weather, perfect for walking and we will walk Point Lobos, south of Carmel, and in the Julia Pfeiffer Burns Park in Big Sur where towering redwoods meet the coast. This trip offers plenty of time for checking out the interesting shops and galleries in Carmel as well as perhaps morning outings to Carmel Beach where the locals take their walks. We are currently taking reservations for our California trip this January.

Inspiration
A poem written by Li-Young Lee
From Blossoms
This brown paper bag of peaches we bought from the boy at the bend in the road where we turned toward signs painted Peaches. From laden boughs, from hands, from sweet fellowship in the bins, comes nectar at the roadside, succulent peaches we devour, dusty skin and all, comes the familiar dust of summer, dust we eat. O, to take what we love inside, to carry within us an orchard, to eat not only the skin, but the shade, not only the sugar, but the days, to hold the fruit in our hands, adore it, then bite into the round jubilance of peach. There are days we live as if death were nowhere in the background; from joy to joy to joy, from wing to wing, from blossom to blossom to impossible blossom, to sweet impossible blossom.
