Greetings,
I have decided to transition from a quarterly newsletter to monthly.  This will keep you informed of upcoming trips, events, thoughts and ideas every month. I intend to keep these short and sassy so you will have plenty of time to read other inspiring, motivating and interesting books, news, and of course poetry, the comics and whatever else enriches you and will fill your spirits. Speaking of books, The Best of Women's Travel Writing 2007, Tales from Around the World , is the third collection in the series guaranteed to inspire women to take their first trip-or to continue exploring the world with wit, soul, and verve, as so many adventurous women do each and every day. These 32 stories cover the globe, from wandering the Sinai desert with small children to learning to salsa in Cuba to climbing a volcano in Ecuador. The perspectives are global and themes encompass spiritual growth, high adventure, romance, and encounters with exotic cuisine. We will host the editor Lucy McCauley with Tehila Lieberman, Laurie Covens, and Suzy Kratzig whose travel stories are part of the 2007 collection for  a selection of readings from the book in Rockport on June 2, 2007 at the Firehouse Trust Building overlooking Rockport Harbor from 7- 9pm. Hope those of you nearby will join us. If any of you would like a copy please send us a check for $17.95 and we will ship one to you promptly. Mail a check to Serendipity Traveler, Box 393 Rockport, Ma. 01966 USA.

Great summer reading and makes an inspiring gift  for women friends.

"Best of" Lists
I am always intrigued how an editor in an office in NYC or San Francisco comes up with the "best of" lists. Beaches, Restaurants, Cities, Eco Lodges, Hotels, Green Cities, Boutique Hotels, and more.  The lists are endless and, admittedly, fascinating at times. Of course I read them as I continually sort out what is the best for Serendipity Travelers. It is total fun, all this editing for our clients and I am not complaining about the traveling I do so that I can   experience the best before taking you there. For me, the best is not always on a list.  It may be emerging like the island of Dominica (which actually just made the list I am referring to) after we went there, or it may not yet be on the radar screen like Fleur de Sel restaurant in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia which offers divine meals each summer, or it may be the best of the best that is locally known and not on the world radar screen like the Bean and Leaf Café in Rockport , Massachusetts.

We each determine "best" in myriads of ways - think of your best friend, or best recipe.  I like to add in the word favorite here as it seems warmer...my favorite beach, my favorite village, or restaurant or...country.  Traveling allows us to experience the world and find the best wherever we go in the people we meet, the folks we travel with, and the discoveries along the way.  We add favorites to our expanding life memories of places and people.

Please send me some of your own personal bests to share with other women around the world. Send to info@serendipitytraveler.com
Travel Style
When you travel with Serendipity Traveler please be certain that you will not be on a tour bus looking out the window and unpacking your bags and repacking your bags every morning and night. We either stay in one accommodation for the week - as in Dominica, British Virgin Islands, and Wyoming or we move in two or three night intervals. I need my beauty rest...I simply can't imagine sleeping in seven beds for seven nights and unpacking and repacking every day. Not my idea of a vacation

Passports
A word on passports... I sent mine in for renewal in plenty of time and it literally arrived the day before I departed after numerous emails, mixed in with lively phone conversations and meeting the FED EX driver in my bathrobe.  If you do not have a passport I would strongly encourage you to get yours - to be prepared so that when your travel dreams emerge you will be ready to fly.  For those of you renewing your passport I encourage you to allow 10-12 weeks.

Last Minute
We are getting reservations for trips at the eleventh hour. Sometimes we can accommodate your wishes and we always do our very best to get you on board the trip of your choice. If life for you is better planning not too far ahead, please call us and we will work together to make your travel dreams real.

Our July trip to Atlantic Canada was recently mentioned in the Boston Sunday Globe feature on Atlantic Canada. We have space   if you haven't yet explored this magical region

New Trip Date
I have just scheduled a second trip to Atlantic Canada which will depart on August 18-24, 2007. See our website for the itinerary which will be similar to July except the Tall Ships won't be in Halifax  so we will alter our beginning..

Inspiration
Traveling opens our heart and minds. As we travel, like artists, we gather a multitude of colored threads to weave our memories, dreams, and reflections into colorful tapestries .
