Green Wave founder, Janine Johnson, has found yet another way to channel her passion and talent for creating innovative, eco- conscious ways to affect change in the lives of children around the world with the creation of the eco-adorable beerings! With the help of TreeSpaceStudio's Amy Tan, Janine has created a unique design especially for NextAid: as seen in the photo above. These playfully chic creations are constructed from recycled beer bottle caps, eco-polyurethane, and come sustainably packaged on an eco-friendly fibered card. 100% of the proceeds go towards the Green Wave Children's Sanctuary at the Kawangware Vision Center in Kenya. Beerings are only $15 for pre-orders!  Do good, feel good and look good - what could be better? Order your pre-sale beerings today by sending an email with the title "Beering Reservation" to greenwavefounder @gmail.com
Featured NextAid Artist Supporter:
DJ Colette
djcolette
With her disarming doe eyes and a heartwarming demeanor, Om Records' DJ Colette possesses the unmistakable voice of post-millennial house music. Her sweet-but-sultry, classically trained voice highlights any beat that flows behind it, making the former choirgirl-cum-Chicago-house-siren a mainstay in the global dance music scene.
In the late 90s, Colette started the SuperJane troupe with fellow Chicagoan DJs Dayhota, Lady D and Heather, paving the way for women seeking equal time behind the decks as their male counterparts. Her most recent album, 'Push,' was inspired by her house music upbringing in the birth place of the beat and does something few seem to do these days: create a complete album of hits that will grab anyone with a love for good music. Check out what this lovely superstar is up to now:

The film tells the remarkable and uplifting story of a group of six Sierra Leonean musicians who came together to form a band while living as refugees in the Republic of Guinea. A brutal civil war (1991-2002) forced them from their homes in Sierra Leone. Despite the unimaginable horrors of civil war, they were saved through their music. The film follows the band over the course of three years as they make the difficult decision to return to their war-torn country and realize their dream of recording an album of their original music.
