Architecture For Humanity Fellow On Site Now! |
We are thrilled to announce that our AFH Fellow Architect, Chris Harnish, has safely landed in Dennilton and already has news to share:
"Sunrise, from my front porch, across an open field that will soon be full of buildings, lit up the valley below and the mountains on the other side, and I knew everything was going to be great. Sunrises are good for that I guess."
Chris is writing a weekly photo blog to share his experiences while living on site for six months with Youth With A Vision. He'll be doing hands-on natural building and supervising the ongoing construction of the NextAid Youth With A Vision Community Center and Children's Residential Village.
Check in with Chris at the Architectural Record:

WIRED Magazine has been a great supporter of NextAid and we are proud to highlight its likeminded goals for sustainability and environmentally conscious building. WIRED and LivingHomes are proud to present the first ever WIRED Home, a showcase of the best in sustainability, technology, and design. Manufactured in the factory to reduce cost and waste, installation of the house only took two and a half days. It is also filled with the latest gadgets, gear, and appliances while keeping kilowatt usage low. This $4 million home is soon open for tours and tickets are onsale and available only online! A percentage of proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Global Green USA and Enterprise. |
