Are you prepared to migrate away from Blackberry?
The Evolution of Corporate Mobility

Looking back, it's difficult to believe that the first real Blackberry smartphones came onto the scene less than 10 years ago. True there were earlier models, but this device combined the traditional cell phone with many of the features that we use heavily today, like email, texting, and, yes, browsing the web. It even had a QWERTY keyboard. Research In Motion (RIM) all but defined the category and gave business execs a way to stay connected from anywhere at any time. The Blackberry was novel and innovative, but it was also practical, manageable, and above all else, secure.

Despite Blackberry's rise from 2003 - 2009, the recent emergence of the iPhone and Android smart phones quickly eroded RIM's market share, almost undoing the last 5 years of market growth. Many businesses have become heavily reliant on RIM and the Blackberry and to prepare for your future, you need to be ready for a mobile world that's dominated by Android, iOS and other devices.

BYOD is like a House Party Gone Bad
Trust me, read more...

If you have been around long enough (grey hair starting to show) experience is a great teacher. House parties were always fun as least in London, England, where in my day the legal drinking age was 18. A less digital age where there were no mobile phones, no texting, no miniature cameras and a more trusting society. One year my parents let me hold a party at our house and even agreed to leave for the evening, (WOW how liberal were they!!). Anyway, I invited around 25 friends and said it's a BYOB party. Lowers the costs and increases the options on your beverage choice. All seemed well at first, all my friends turned up, music playing, good casual drinking at least at the beginning and a great party. Sounds like your BYOD strategy, a great idea, lowers costs, increase associates options, everyone is buying into the plan.
