PATCO AND THE MS150

On September 24 & 25, 2011 several thousand cyclists participated in the Bike MS: City to Shore Ride 2011.Thanks to many cyclists and volunteers the City to Shore Ride was a success. Their efforts raised $4,481,310.51 to help those with multiple sclerosis. Woodcrest Station was the Start and Finish site of this annual event.  People from all over are taking extraordinary challenges to make this a world free of MS. Maybe you are up for the challenge next year? Get your heart pumping and your mind racing as you push yourself beyond limits you never dreamed possible! For more information about this worthy cause go to www.nationalmssociety.org.
PATCO'S WAVE & PAY PILOT PROGRAM

Wave & Pay ambassadors arrived in stations the week of September 26 and October 3 to hand out cards and give-a-ways to officially kick off our year-long pilot program. PATCO is once again first in the region to try new technology. The Wave & Pay offers PATCO riders another option to pay for their fare and shop. The PATCO Wave & Pay Anywhere card allows you to pay for PATCO parking and fares, Phillies and Eagles tickets, a dinner date, cab fare and your bills online all with one card! In fact, you can use it anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.

So, ride the train, buy a cup of coffee, and go to the movies, whatever.  One little card, one big convenience!  To receive a free card, stop by the FREEDOM Card Service Center or order one at www.PATCOpilot.com.

PATCO CARES

On September 27, 2011 the PATCO Cares program welcomed The South Jersey Land & Water Trust  to the Haddonfield Station. They passed out literature and gave customers information about the organization. South Jersey Land & Water Trust is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve and protect the water resources and land within the watersheds of southern New Jersey through public education, advocacy, increased scientific understanding, and habitat preservation. As a multi-county association, the SJLWT is made up of people who want to ensure that there is abundant clean water for our families, that our streams, lakes, forests, and fields are preserved for all our children, and that we protect the wildlife habitats and open spaces that we all enjoy. For more information please go to www.sjlandwater.org.
Transit Ambassadors

Remember PATCO's uniformed Transit Ambassadors are there to provide a presence in the stations, parking lots, concourses, and on the trains primarily in the evening hours. Their services include:

  • Provide schedules and other printed PATCO materials
  • Assist customers with purchasing fares and with using the fare gates
  • Upon request, accompany someone to their car within the limits of the PATCO lot
  • Observe and report any dangerous and/or unsafe condition
  • Answer any PATCO related questions
  • They are equipped with radios so that they can quickly alert appropriate personnel of any situation that may arise
  • They the extra eyes and ears at PATCO. If you see something that doesn't look quite right, don't hesitate to tell them.

PATCO works hard to keep the train seats in the good shape for the customers. We repair an average of 140 seats a month.
