Happy Holidays and Happy New Year
The Delaware River Port Authority wishes its customers a happy, safe and healthy holiday season and a Happy New Year.

Ring In the New Year

On December 31, head down to the Philadelphia Camden Waterfront and ring in the new year under the bright lights of the Twice the Fireworks! Twice the Fun! This year offers two fireworks displays, an evening show at 6 p.m., and the traditional display at the stroke of midnight. Ride PATCO and avoid the traffic.

But wait, there's more! Ride PATCO into Center City on New Year's Day and watch your favorite string band perform at the Mummers Parade. Exit at PATCO's 13th and Locust Street station for convenient access to the parade route along Broad Street.
Work Zone Safety

We would like to remind our customers to slow down and observe posted speed limits when driving across any of our bridges. This is particularly important in work zones.  Accidents in work zones are a major concern and they happen all too frequently. Our police force regularly patrols the bridges to make sure speed limits and other traffic laws are being followed. Do your part and slow down.

Over the Limit Under Arrest
Police Officers from the Delaware River Port Authority will be cracking down on drunk drivers as part of the annual holiday season "Over the Limit, Under Arrest" 2010 Statewide Crackdown. Running now through January 2, 2011, local and state police are conducting saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints, looking for drivers who may be driving while intoxicated.

A concentrated national effort, the campaign helps to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving through high visibility enforcement and public education tools, including posters, banners and mobile video display signs.  Special variable message signs will be located at all four DRPA bridges

Traffic safety experts recommend if someone plans to drink alcoholic beverages they should designate a driver who will not drink alcohol before going out, take mass transit or a taxi home, or, spend the night where the activity is held.
Did You Know?
In December of 1999, all four DRPA bridges began offering E-ZPass. The use of such technology has many benefits including environmental. E-Z Pass can process 250 to 300 percent more vehicles per lane, thus reducing toll plaza delays and traffic congestion.  Less congestion leads to reduced auto emissions and fuel consumption.
