Reno Tips
I enjoy doing this segment of my E-Newsletter since I do come across several situations worthy of mentioning. I am a firm believer in the 6 P's......Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance. Perhaps some of my solutions may help your projects go smoother.
It doesn't make sense to keep an old refrigerator or old freezer in your garage or basement - not when it uses up to four times the energy of $150 a year in energy costs. Of course, throwing it away isn't a good long-term plan for the environment either.
What to do?
Why not recycle it?

Looking for an easy meal to whip up on a warm summer evening? Try these tasty recipes for a hearty meal to share with your friends and family!
Slow-Cooked Barbecue Ribs Recipe
Cooks In: 6 hours
Yield: 6-8 Servings
Ingredients
4 pounds pork baby back ribs
2 cups ketchup
3/4 cup chili sauce
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup vinegar
3 teaspoons dried oregano
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Place ribs in a roasting pan and bake for 15-20 minutes on each side. Remove from pan to drain.
Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl. Place ribs in a slow cooker (Crock-Pot®) and pour mixture over to coat well. Cook on lowest setting for 6 to 8 hours.
Easy Broccoli Slaw Recipe
Cooks In: 4 hours
Yield: 6 Servings
1 (16 ounce) package of broccoli slaw mix
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon mustard seed
1 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Combine all ingredients except slaw in a 2-quart microwave safe dish or bowl. Heat in microwave on high power for 2 minutes.
Stir well to dissolve sugar. Microwave for 1 additional minute. Pour over slaw mix in large bowl, cover and chill for about 4 hours.

Microwave Grasshopper Pie Recipe
Cooks In: 2 Minutes
Yield: 1 Pie (9")
Quick and easy microwave recipe!
9 inch Crumb Pie Shell
1 pkg (10 oz) large marshmallows
1/2 cup milk
1 cup whipping cream, whipped
1/4 cup green crème de menthe
2 tablespoons white crème de cocoa
Additional whipped cream
Chocolate curls
Preparation:
In 3-quart casserole place marshmallows and milk. Cover and microwave on high for 2 to 4 minutes, until mixture can be stirred smooth. Chill in refrigerator (about 30-40 minutes) or in pan of ice water, until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Fold in whipped cream, crème de menthe, and crème de cocoa.
Pour into crust and decorate with additional whipped cream and chocolate curls, if desired. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
