The CW's Get Real
Media leader, The CW on WWHO-TV and entrepreneurial advocate, The Ohio Business Week Foundation have joined forces to promote real world experiences for young adults.

The CW on WWHO-TV is the official 2007 media sponsor for Ohio Business Week (OBW). WWHO-TV is airing a public service announcement for OBW, targeting high school students who want to learn about business and entrepreneurship. Along

In a time when shoulder pads and hairspray were staples in every fashionable ensemble, "Rain Man" won Best Picture, "Don't Worry Be Happy" won song of the year, and Germany was celebrating the fall of the Berlin Wall, Ohio Business Week was preparing for its first summer session.

Since its inception in 1989, OBW has evolved into the program that exists today. Through its evolution, the purpose and goals of OBW have remained intact. One of the most crucial factors to the Foundation's success is the role of loaned executive or company advisor (CA).

Entrepreneurship Week USA
Organizations that advocate entrepreneurship education in Ohio met on March 2 to celebrate EntrepreneurshipWeek USA, at the National Museum of Education in Akron. Hosted by Nick Frankovitis and Gay Evans, several agencies were represented to share their resources, and embark on a plan to increase the spread of entrepreneurship education in Ohio. The advocates, now dubbed the State Leadership Team, will hold their next meeting in Columbus in 2008 in conjunction with EntrepreneurshipWeek USA.

Rich Rosen
We are pleased to welcome Richard Rosen, vice president of external business relations at Battelle, as a speaker on innovation at Ohio Business Week 2007.

Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Battelle conducts $3.7 billion in research and development annually through contract research, laboratory management, and technology commercialization. Battelle provides innovative solutions to some of the world's most important problems including global climate change, sustainable energy technologies, high performance materials, next generation healthcare diagnostics and therapeutics, and advanced security solutions for people, infrastructure, and the nation.
Tom Thoms
Through the American free enterprise system, entrepreneurs create products and services which shape the American economy. Imagine a world where everyone, employees and employers alike, had the mindset of an entrepreneur, an attitude of independence and self-reliance, along with the skills to identify and solve problems and seek out opportunities. Perhaps the greatest possible outcome from an entrepreneurially-literate society would be the ability for people to create their own jobs. If we taught our young people the necessary skills to develop the mindset of an entrepreneur, we could equip them with the tools they need to create their own destiny.
We would like to recognize our major sponsors for 2007:

Battelle, Honda of America Mfg., Inc., National City, Progressive Medical, Inc., State Farm Insurance, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company and WinWholesale Inc.
Congratulations to OBW 2006 graduate Brooklyn Young, a finalist for the 2007 Girls Going Places Entrepreneurship Award. A senior at Fort Hayes High School, Young will receive a $1,000 scholarship from Guardian.
