The Struggle for Catan - The New Card Game
The Struggle for Catan™ is in stores!

The Struggle for Catan™ is now available at your local retailer. This is a fast-paced game between the 2-4 factions developing newly settled Catan.

Manage your resources to build settlements, cities, city expansions, knights, and roads that generate victory points or special abilities. While your settlements, cities, and city expansions remain yours, valuable roads and knights change hands. Varied expensive city expansions give you additional victory points and lasting advantages, so they're generally key to victory. As in The Settlers of Catan® board game, you win by being the first to acquire and play 10 victory points.

The Struggle for Catan™ is the perfect way for 2-4 players to swiftly and casually explore, settle, trade, and build on the beautiful and ever-changing island of Catan.

MFG3141 The Struggle for Catan™ $15.00

Ages: 10+, Players: 2-4, Playing Time: 30 minutes

Designer: Klaus Teuber, Art: Michael Menzel

Made in: U.S.A.

Escape to the Low-Tech Island of Catan

Read this great article from The Globe and Mail.

A wonderful article titled "Settlers of Catan: A low-tech island retreat for a plugged-in generation", written by Josh Wingrove, was published on Canadian news site The Globe and Mail. The article include words from Klaus and his son Guido. Please enjoy reading it at the link below.

Is Catan the Next Monopoly?

Articles from The Atlantic and Wired's Geekdad Blog.

There have been several articles posted recently about whether or not The Settlers of Catan is the next Monopoly. The first article comes from The Atlantic  and it is called "Settlers of Catan: How a German Board Game went Mainstream".

The second post comes from one of our favorite writers/bloggers, Jonathan Liu of the Wired Geekdad blog. His post "Hooray, Settlers of Catan is not the new Monopoly" is actually a response to a second article published on the Atlantic by Rebecca Greenfield( "Settlers of Catan is not the next Monopoly"), who refutes that Catan is not the next Monopoly.

What do you think? Are these articles accurate? Is Catan better than Monopoly or is it not even comparable?
