Enrollment Continues to Rise
Enrollment figures for Fall 2009 continue to rise. To date, we have received a remarkable 1,155 applications for our incoming freshman class of 325 students. This is an almost 4:1 ratio of applicants to admits, mirroring, and in many cases outperforming, the finest institutions in our region. Transfer and graduate applications are on the rise as well.
Of particular note, applications for this incoming freshman class reveal an increase in diversity and in overall college preparedness (as seen in test scores). |
Distinguished Teaching
UW Bothell is pleased to announce Dr. Peter Littig as recipient of the 2009 Distinguished Teaching Award.
Littig reflects the institution's core value of transformational
education, 'engaging our students in transformational learning
experiences that challenge their expectations, broaden their horizons,
and stimulate their ambitions.'
He joined UW Bothell as an Assistant Professor in the
Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences Program in 2005, and, in addition to
establishing a calculus sequence for the institution's first class of
freshman, has developed six unique courses, from Interdisciplinary
Cryptography to Women in/and Mathematics, each echoing his commitment
to real-world problem solving and interdisciplinary teaching and
learning. Read more.
