Extraordinary Results August Midmonth Newsletter "How can I help?"

Greetings!
Today, the 13th, is a special day as two of our kids, Sean and Emily, both have birthdays today! Happy Birthday, sweeties! (Yes, Sean is 6'5"!)
Well, our son's wedding is done and we got them moved into their home. That was a lot of fun! It's great seeing them so happy.
And now it's August. Hard to believe. Our 17 year-old son, Micah, starts school already on August 17. Way too early in my opinion! He's visiting his sister, Emily, in Denver for a week and having a blast. The trip includes white water rafting - goodness!
Emily is helping Micah by giving him a great end to the summer. Read today's feature article and let me know how I can help you!

How can I help?
At the National Speakers Association (NSA) convention I attended in Phoenix in July I met Greg Bell of Water the Bamboo. I met a lot of people that weekend but let me tell you why Greg stood out to me.
The big question we speakers ask each other in NSA is 'What do you speak on?" That's the standard question. So, after Greg had asked me what I spoke on and after I shared the topic I then asked him "Greg, what do you speak on?" He surprised me by answering "Never mind about me - what can I do for you?" I was shocked so I said "I'm not sure. What do you speak on?" Again he asked me what he could do for me. This really caused me to stop and think. I can't remember the last time someone asked me what they could do for me. It is a great question and very honoring.
I was thinking after I talked with him how different my life would
be if I asked those I met and people I k now "What can I do for you?" I
guess I think that it's just understood that I love to help people. But
what a change it would be for them and me if I would ask them
directly. I know how special I felt when Greg asked me and I believe
all of us would like to feel more special. And, it's wonderful to help
someone.
What can I do for you? You reaction may be like mine was when Greg asked me. I shrugged it off and thought that he was probably just asking to ask and didn't really mean it. But, that wasn't true.
What can I do for you? Is there a topic you'd like me to address in this newsletter? Do you need a resource? Advice? Just ask me by clicking here!
Fearless Organizing Assignment: If this resonated with you the next time someone asks what you do or how your day is going why don't you try asking them what you can do for them! Of course, you need to mean it. Let me know how your world changes because of it!
